scoop with Zara and Mike
In December
2006 a Citizen sports reporter gained an
exclusive interview with England and Gloucester rugby player
Mike Tindall (Zara Philips' boyfriend) at Gatcombe Park -
home to the Princess Royal. The only problem was that it
was 4pm on a cold, dark, rainy afternoon in December, and
we were told "no photography in their private home".
I did not
have a clue where I would be able to photograph
them and was slightly relieved when we were taken to an
office. The office was very cluttered, but I identified a corner
of the room where I could photograph the couple - but this was
full of boxes etc. On explaining my plight, Zara actually helped
me to clear a space and I placed them together in a chair and
photographed them. I managed to get a totally natural shot of
the couple looking into each others' eyes - much to the delight
of my editor.
